Chris Flew is a singer songwriter from Glasgow who takes his inspiration and passion for music from a diverse list including the likes of Radiohead, Elliott Smith, Max Richter and Frank Ocean.
Flew’s new album, White Note on Minor 9ths, is his best yet, it begins with ‘Summer Stole the Girl’, where he shows off his rather impressive piano skills.
Track two, ‘Hazy’, is a little more upbeat than the previous yet similar in some ways, as you listen more you begin to feel that all the tracks begin to blend into one.
Though Flew plays the piano with elegance, all the tracks keep to the same tempo and have similar rhythms, the only difference is noticed in ‘Subway Trains’ when a drum is introduced.
Flew wrote the whole album himself and has done it in a way that gives off the impression that oozes professionalism, crafting each individual song as though it was the most important song in the world.
This one’s perfect if you’re in the mood for a nice relaxing evening.
