It brings me great sadness that for the time being I am going to have to put Rave Child on hold as a regular blog, unfortunately at this present point real life has caught up to me and you may well have noticed the blog has suffered for it in recent months.

It has been great working with everyone, from musicians, to the people behind them and the people who have made this site great: the talented writers and photographers and with all good faith this won’t be the end. I just need a break, I can’t keep going with all the admin the site needs, which is fulltime job in itself.

I started Rave Child when I was a student, partly because the Glasgow music scene was something I felt good promoting and partly because it got me access to shows I would likely not have been able to afford, but over the years it has evolved into something that I have received much more praise for than I ever imagined, and I would once again like to thank everyone for that, but also something that I don’t have the time to manage.

I have a few reviews pending that I will get live over next month or so and I am playing some tunes between bands at Tut’s on Tuesday night, but aside from that I don’t know for sure what the future holds. I have some ideas, but we’ll wait and see what comes to fruition.

Rave Child bringing you all the latest happenings in Scottish music; featuring reviews of all the best Glasgow gigs, records by Scottish musicians, up to date Glasgow gig listings and music features.

  1. Hey guys,

    I hope you’re good?

I thought that you might be into the new track from Scottish-raised artist James Gillespie.

    ‘Good Life’ –

Evoking the kinds of natural technical ability and vocal prowess that earned artists like James Blake and Hozier instant kudos, James’ comet-like entrance into the musical ether last year has seen him gain critical acclaim across all genres with support from The Line Of Best Fit to Complex not mention recently breaking 35M streams

I’d love to know what you think
