‘Walking Out and Walking In’ is a haunting track with waves of synth riffs, which overlap and flow behind harmonising vocals and a prominent voice.
Aspects of the track are tightly knit, however other parts, for example, the vocals are very open and free and this contrast works well to create a spacious, but well structured track.
“Here comes trouble again/creeping in the back door” are the opening lyrics, immediately suggesting that there is an underlying darkness to the single.
Washed experiments with electronic pop, however this single turns the expectations around through its intriguing style and dark sound.
