Maybe We’re Dead Already – MWDA

Maybe We’re Dead Already does not hold back in expressing their aim within this EP.

Opener ‘Best Foot Forward’ has a heavy, classic rock sound however the vocals are relatively weak and are shadowed by the overpowering use of guitar, bass and drums, therefore the lyrics are pushed away from being the focus of the track.

‘Savage’, however, provides the gritty, loud and powerful feel that would be expected from a band that aims for an archetypal ‘rock’ sound.

“You are a savage, I am a savage” screams vocalist Paul Morton throughout the chorus, over an aggressive riff from electric guitar and heavy drumming.

Closer ‘Wear The Night Well’ includes a very similar instrumental structure as the previous tracks however, there is a hint of blues, while maintaining the band’s focal rock and grunge sound.

This EP showcases three tracks that could form the base to a successful rock album, although more variety may be required to set the band apart from others who share the same aim.
