Azealia Banks at O2 ABC Glasgow, 15/9/14

Azealia Banks comes on stage at quarter past nine for her rescheduled and relocated Glasgow appearance, accompanied by a DJ, two dancers and two backing singers, Banks takes to the ABC stage as confetti shoots into the air and fills the venue.

Opening with ‘Count Contessa’ from recent mixtape Fantasea II: The Second Wave, Banks appears to be enjoying herself with a huge smile on her face as she prances around the stage playing her own unique brand of hip-hop.

Banks praises her fans loyalty, although some in Glasgow appear to have become disinterested with her, the ABC well short of sold out and the original gig was meant to be in the larger Academy.

She thanks the crowd for their support during her infamous split from her record label, before playing ‘Atlantis’ from 2012’s Fantasea, which features the best synchronised dancing of the night from Banks and her backing group.

Other highlights include ‘Yung Rapunxel’ and of course, her debut single and global hit ‘212’, which gets the best response of the night.

A notably controversial figure in the way she does her business, Banks has shown none of that tonight as her fans lap up her energetic and enthusiastic encore of ‘Esta Noche’ and ‘Venus’, which end a very enjoyable set.
