The Apparells’ new single ‘Sirens’ begins with a sound bite of horses hoofs, which is rather fitting as they then gallop into a big opening riff.
The single from the Glasgow five-piece (they have added a keyboard player since this single was recorded) has a big chorus and some fantastic guitar work in the solos and in the well-placed and thought out bridge.
B-side ‘Talk Me Down’ sounds a bit too much like an Oasis song for something not written by a Gallagher brother, but still makes for some pleasant listening, and is definitely good enough to be a B-side when the A-side is as good as ‘Sirens’.
A good release from one of Glasgow’s up and coming bands.
