Grab your fedora, put on your dancing shoes, this toe tapping new single from the Victorian Trout Conspiracy invites you onto the dance floor with its light hearted and catchy saxophone opening.
‘Summer’ is nicely written and easy to listen and sing along to, the melody is strong and tuneful.
The lyrics are interesting and have some punchy phrases, ‘Summer’ has one of those chorus’ where you just have to sing along… badly.
VTC are original and amusing, it gives off the right impression- the song is fun and has been written for sheer entertainment value.
The vocals are attractive and warm, which adds to the easy going sound to the track, not too overpowering.
The best thing about this song is the fact that the singer doesn’t dominate the track, he allows the listener to hear all the different instruments used, making the song more memorable.
It’s easy for the average listener to feel at home with it, which, in turn, makes it more attractive as it gives off a little 50s pop/rock vibe.
Overall, great song – one to look out for.
