A very different album from what I was expecting – Ask The Animals features the usual guitar, bass, drums setup but is not a traditional rock album.
Sometimes it sounds like it’s the soundtrack for a Tarantino film, with its tense trumpets and seventies guitars; at other times it’s acoustic love songs make you believe you’re watching the next big American rom-com.
Whichever images your mind conjures up when you give Warren McIntyre & The Starry Skies a listen, you can be sure it creates the right atmosphere.
Full arrangements, polished production and great performances ensure that this is a debut album that makes a statement.
