Big sounds are present on the new single from Sonic Hearts Foundation.
Feedback, tribal drums and spaghetti Western guitar create tension among the crowd before the vocals chime in to tell us the story.
Everything is wet with reverb and the song itself suffers from each and every instrument having a dull edge to them.
To say that ‘The Storm’ could’ve been more is an understatement.
The instrumentation is tight, if the vocals a little lacking in finesse – yet they’re the only part performed with any sort of intention or purpose.
The whole ensemble works, but there’s no urgency and no threat.
