Record review: Hey Enemy – ‘Pink Steam’ [Predestination]

Thick, chunky guitars; pounding drums; screams and shouts – it’s all here on ‘Pink Steam’, the new single by Hey Enemy.

These guys call themselves post-punk, but there’s definitely more than a little  metal injected into their latest track.

The track benefits from good production making every instrument pop and shine through well; the monster guitars, the chugging bass and the metal vocals.

The drums fill in the gap and come across as a little light in comparison.

It all works well together and the track benefits further from some excellent songwriting including a racing coda that builds and builds before crossing the finish.
