Opener ‘Bitches’ combines marching snare with washes of guitar and female vocals with a Celtic lilt to them.
In the verses it’s an unusual arrangement, making space for the vocals – it’s only when we hit the choruses that we see the bigger picture.
‘Cosplay The Easy Way’ brings a touch more finesse to the table, where the instrumentation is balanced better than before.
The soundscapes aren’t contrasted by barer sections, and as a result, it feels like a fuller, more finished work than ‘Bitches’.
Closer ‘Back In A Liquid Minute’ presents the band in their best light yet, with the bass playing a more prominent part this time around with every instrument considered equal to one another.
They call themselves post-rock pop – ambitious, adventurous music that’s accessible- sounds about right to me.
