Doune The Rabbit Hole, the three day tea party taking place 10- 12th June situated in the beautiful countryside surrounding Doune Castle returns for 2011 and things are looking bright.
I’m not going to comment too much on the festival but the line up jam packed full of Scottish talent speaks for itself, look!
Mungo’s Hi-Fi, Zoey Van Goey, The Vaselines, BMX Bandits, Alasdair Roberts, Remember Remember, The Ray Summers, Dam Mantle, Conquering Animal Sound, Ben Butler & Mousepad, Randolph’s Leap, How To Swim, Tokamak, Tango in the Attic, Gropetown, Trembling Bells, James Yorkston, Them Beatles, Punch & the Apostles, RM Hubbert, Fur Hood, The Cosmic Dead plus more.
What’s that? More festivals? This one’s over in Edinburgh but will be worth the trek. It’s called Wide Days and takes place at Teviot House on June 7th. Only a few bands announced so far but with PAWS, Letters, GoGoBot and Capitals already announced it’s looking promising.
Small Scale Collisions will be supporting the magnificent Emeralds at the Arches in May, great support for the local guys. This one is lining up to be a must not miss.
Ben Butler & Mousepad are playing Knock Knock at the Art School on Wednesday, the club night has had some pretty hot line up since launching a couple of weeks ago and this is a more than worthy addition,
A Band Called Quinn are headlining the Classic Grand on Thursday, I’m led to believe it’s an album launch pop along, it’s a couple of pints worth to get in.
Wounded Knee has one of those new fangled website things go have a wee gander, on the website front Admiral Fallow‘s has had a wee lick of paint too.
Tonight’s gigs:
There’s a few gigs in town tonight I advise you get along to one as I sadly can’t:
Firstly, Black International are down at the Admiral promoting their new album ‘In Debt’ which is available to buy here.
Also, Unity’s 5th birthday extravaganza is going to tear apart the Kinning Park Complex, the night involves live sets from Francis MacDonald (Teenage Fanclub), Elemental Soundsystem, Second Hand Marching Band, Malicious Mischief and Witches Revenge. Plus a DJ set by lee from Camera Obscura. And it’s all for a good cause
Last but not least Little Yellow Ukuleles sadly play what could possibly be their last ever show in support of Penguins Kill Polar Bears tonight at Captain’s Rest, other support comes from The Darien Venture and Verse Metrics.
Cheeky bonuses:
New Errors track! Excellent news, it’s called Magna Encarta listen here:
Here’ a wee video Three Blind Wolves did on their last UK tour, there’s one happening right now as well so get yourself along to one of the dates:
A new Julia and the Doogans track:
