The Hazy Shades – ‘Barricade’

The Hazy Shades is a four-piece band originating from Glasgow.

With influences from those such as the Beatles, they got together in 2014 to bring good music to others.

Performing past gigs at the likes of King Tut’s and Stereo, they bring us this new single ‘Barricade’.

Here we go with some classic rock and roll, characteristic of modern indie and greats from the past.

It’s nothing too dark with a bright, pulsing backbeat coloured with faint syncopation.

The message is clear: unity is a key desire, joining the forces of boys and girls.

It makes you want to shout “Yeah!” multiple times, rallying enthusiastic followers through song and musical discourses.

Half way, we hear a similar building of force in the way each instrument is added one at a time, layering the drums, with the rhythm guitar and a neat little melody feature, but the vocals are what really give this track its appeal, they are raspy with nuances of a Scottish accent, the guys exhibit a real flare for bold musicality.

The pace is beautifully held without rushing forward giving you just enough time to experience the gems on display.
