Autobahn at Broadcast, 4/2/16

Leeds’ Autobahn have followed hot on the heels of the city compadres Eagulls on a wave of good hype and press and given tonight’s slick performance, it is not hard to see why.

Autobahn brings an exquisite composite of Joy Division-esque gothy post-punk teeming with the similar energy that has given Eagulls their punk credentials and it is a pleasure to experience.

The Leeds five-piece rip through debut LP Dissemble highlights ‘Society’ and ‘Immaterial Man’ to a rapturous response from the Broadcast crowd.

While they have an impressive sound and energy, their set does wane after a slightly lengthy feeling 45-minute set.

Despite this, Autobahn looks a real prospect for the future, and tonight shows they’ll be ones to watch.
