Hailing from Glasgow, Picnic Basket Nosedive is no strangers to the scene, having gigged regularly since their first show in 2011, they have a strong dedicated following both here and further afield.
‘Save Yourself’ opens with the sound of total nostalgia, the pop punk riffs and drums could easily be on any of The Starting Line’s records, while the mix between dirty and clean vocals help to make the track stand out from the crowd.
‘Save Yourself’ is full of hooks that grab your attention, from the intertwining guitars on the verse, to the quiet bridge section and key change at the end makes an already huge chorus sound even bigger in comparison.
No one can question the band’s ability to write catchy pop punk.
‘Save Yourself’ showcases everything the band is about, catchy early 00s sounding pop punk, full of New Found Glory style hooks and classic choruses.
It is refreshing to see a pop punk band with a huge amount of substance in their tracks, Picnic Basket Nosedive don’t seem to be afraid to stray slightly from the new “The Story So Far rip off” blueprint that has plagued the recent pop punk scene, yet they still produce outstanding results.
