This impressive double A-side shows what instrumental bands can amount to by using just a droning synth, a strong drumbeat, some electric guitars and a piano.
‘Know Everything, Know Everyone’ has a simple guitar riff as its foundation builds around this producing a concentrated alternative rock sound.
The constant beat of the drums steadies the track, as a droning synth centres the two new guitar riffs giving it an atmospheric vibe, however the end of the song becomes a wall-of-noise as the guitars become distorted and the drums heavier, giving it a climactic end.
‘Last Act of a Desperate Man’ is a solid six-and-a-half-minutes of emotionally intense instrumental music.
There is a recorded impassioned speech behind the music and with the soft piano and guitar working together it creates a compelling feel to the song.
The track builds up and ends with more distortion and feeling in the music by adding a strong guitar riff and an eclectic drum beat.
This single proves Deer Leader as an up-and-coming instrumental band, highlighting their skill in emotional and powerful music.
