Fata Morgana, a three-piece musical outfit straight out the 2nd year of commercial music at UWS, have come crashing onto the Glasgow scene with their debut EP, The Story.
Fata Morgana are a three girl, one guy group with a smooth laid back style, consisting of simplistic guitar riffs and metaphorical lyrics and vocals, the five-track EP rolls into being on the wheels of a ‘Tropical Heatwave’, the first track on the record and one of simple chords and symbols, leading the tune through lilting vocals and wickedly symbolic lyrics.
Lead vocalist, Andrea Preston’s stylistic voice caresses and works in unison with the instruments to create a brilliantly enjoyable track, owever the stand out sound is title track ‘The Story’, with understated 50s guitar and the swinging dancing beat it’s the most accomplished track on the record, with lyrics that tell of heartbreak and unrequited love while being garnished with upbeat and stirring instrumentals.
The Story is a fantastic first foray onto the scene, Fata Morgana are and will continue to be a group to watch.
