Glasgow alt-rockers PAWS caused quiet an impact with their Scottish Album Of The Year nominated debut album Cokefloat! and since its release have won over the hearts of thousands worldwide.
Ahead of the release of their sophomore album Youth Culture Forever the band have unveiled the new single ‘Tongues’, this track has been somewhat highly anticipated by fans of the band since the laid back acoustic version appearing on YouTube in September and the full version making it’s way into live sets with various bootlegs making their way online.
Finally we are given the version we’ve all been waiting to hear, after being teased with this track for six months we are finally given the studio version.
With a sound that could be compared to classic alt-rock bands such as Dinosaur Jr. as well as punk bands of the late 90s, PAWS are the not your everyday indie band.
The band provides us with a track filled with pounding drums, a combination of melodic and noisy guitar, smooth alt-rock bass line and honest lyrics.
This single leaves us with good reason to be excited for the songs that follow on the soon to be released album, but until then this teaser of what’s to come will have to do.
