Record review: Where We Lay Our Heads – ‘Bury You’

‘Bury You’ is a simple ballad led by the heartfelt vocals of singer-songwriter Wullie Swales.

Where We Lay Our Heads incorporate a set up of minimal instrumentation featuring a solo violin which drives the melody of the song.

The recording itself is slightly rusty, however, intended or not this seems to add a certain rawness that flatters the concept and movement of the track .

The song flows modestly over a structure infused with sweet lyrics and catchy riffs, the breakdown is hypnotic and laced with subtle distorted vocal effects that merge into the last choruses beautifully.

This single will convince any fan of the increasingly popular folky pop genre to witness WWLOH live on their upcoming tour this month.
