Spindly vocals and spindly guitars combine in an anthem worthy of a listen, ‘Shout First/Last Words’ pushes and pulls with skill, gently teasing the listener with tension.
Verses pass the time until we reach the apex, the real peak of the mountain; it’s a simple solution to the age-old problem, keeping a listener entertained throughout.
Breakdowns and middle sections show that A Fight You Can’t Win are capable of more than just big crowd chants.
Altogether this, their new single, has its appeal and will surely earn them an army of followers – but there’s something missing for me.
