The weekend’s over and the dust has settled from the riot that was Friday night, congratulations to anyone who went along to either Croc Vs Croc or the PAWS EP launch, the former was excellent and we’ll have a review coming soon and by all accounts the latter was brilliant too, I don’t doubt it was!
Today we have a much less raucous affair on the cards as Monoganon launch their second album Songs To Swim To down at Mono and it’s all for free so get yourself along! It should be a wonderful event as John B McKenna and co give us a first live airing of their brilliant record which you can download here for free courtesy of Winning Sperm Party, click here for the download.
In terms of news Electric Frog Festival is back for Easter 2011, it’s happening over the weekend of the 23-24th April, day tickets are £25 and £45 for weekend ticket. The hugely popular urban and electronic micro-festival returns again to SWG3 in its third outing and we’re sure it’ll be just as brilliant as the last two events. Nico’s Bike prepare to release ‘Sharkbait’ and ‘Angel Trigonometry’ on 31st March for Bubblegum‘s For Singles Only. Nico’s Bike features the inimitable Mo (of defunct Lungleg), in her first band for 13 years. I caught them supporting The Yummy Fur at Stereo not long back and they were just wonderful. You can listen to Nico’s Bike here.
Edinburgh School for the Deaf who I also caught recently engulfing a crowd in The Captain’s Rest in a mighty onslaught in support of The Lovely Eggs (which you can watch here), will also do a release on For Singles Only, with ‘Orpheus Descending’ and one other track which is still awaiting a title coming out on 29th April.
Glasgow noise-punk favourites Divorce are set to support LA’s KIT in a Cry Parrot event on March 21st, check it out here.
