I’ve usually been ignoring these uni events as the restriction to only students seems unfair, I am a student incidentally, however Daft Friday at the GUU seemed to goo not to mention and you can get in as long as you have a student buy you a ticket.
The line up includes Frightened Rabbit, Over The Wall, Otherpeople, Cancel The Astronauts along with a whole bunch of other stuff, it’s a 12 hour event running 8pm-8am on December 16/17, tickets at £32/35 or £60/£65 if you’re buying two.
We Are The Physics have another headline Glasgow show coming up, a wee bit of a wait but surely it’ll be fine, fingers crossed, anyway it’s at The Captains Rest on February 11.
This Silent Forest has chucked up a ‘news diary thing’ up on Facebook, now I can’t decipher whether this is show they are playing or merely attending, however what is clear is they are supporting Morgan Fight at Bloc on December 20, and are playing the Captains Rest Hogmanay party with Olympic Swimmers.
Matt Norris and the Moon have been announced as the winner of Hog the Street 2011, meaning they will get the chance to support Primal Scream, Bombay Bicycle Club and Sons and Daughters as part of Edinburgh’s Hogmanay Celebrations.
The band are due to release their debut single at New Year and will perform a free warm-up show at Brel on the December 15, 8pm, free.
