Today’s news featuring Hairy Area, Glasgow Popfest and more

Thankyou Frankley present the first chance to see We Were Promised Jetpacks side-project Hairy Area in action on May 14. Hairy Area, as well as having WWPJ’s Adam Thompson feature members of Endor, Sebastian Dangerfield and Lady North. Tickets £5, more details HERE.

There’s been a few new additions to Glasgow Popfest 2011, Baffin Island, Lenzie Moss, Spook School join an already brilliant line up in a mustn’t miss four days in December.

Knoydart Festival line-up has been expanded, I’ve not mentioned this before so here’s the full listings: Banana Sessions, Daimh Big Band Experience, Bombskare, Manran, Orkestra del Sol, Moishe’s Bagel, Fuaim, Hidden Orchestra, Washington Irving, Dr Mango & the Chickpeas, FOUND. The Japanese War Effort is set support Miaoux Miaoux in his single launch at Mono on May 24 and a biggie supporting the wonderful Cass McCombs at The Captain’s Rest on May 27.

Panda Su and Scrap Brain have been added to the Rock The Fort line-up.

Burnt Island, Randolph’s Leap are going to be playing Mono on May 17, should be fun.

Nackt Insecten is playing a free show at Mono on May 10.

Pensioner and Mondegreen play Bar Bloc tomorrow.

Mr Peppermint has a bunch of gigs coming up including one in Glasgow at Bar Bloc on May 7.
